Interraband is the political conscience of Jo Billups (guitar vocals) and Karen Harvill (guitar vocals.) Jo and Karen had been singing in the New Orleans ~ and Mississippi coffee house scene as environmental folk artists. They first collaborated together in 1991 for the Governor's Conference on the Future as 'Natives' a combination of tunes recorded by the Mississippi Mammas and Jo Billups for the conference. They would remain friends but not involved again musically until recently when the pair decided that the environmental awareness that Jo and Karen had hoped for had not evolved (during their absence of raising families) and set out to produce a whole new batch of environmental tunes. They are glad to be 'back' as Interraband and hope that you enjoy the new thoughts/tracks!
