THE TERRAKABOK

About Me

The Terrakabok is a songwriters duo consisting of French guitar player Ivan Kabok and Dutch singer Sophie Terra. Their journey began in the summer of 2005, when they met at a camping sight at Cerbere in the south of France. This is where they wrote their first song which is also entitled Cerbere. This song was written within 10 minutes because from that moment on there was a musical chemistry between these two musicians from completely different backgrounds. Ivan had already studied classical conservatory at age 12 and Sophie was still in highschool at the time. Two years later they met again to continue, and they wrote 4 more songs in a week. Because Ivan lives in Paris and Sophie studies conservatory in Amsterdam they only meet several times per year, and when they do they write new songs and record them. Slowly but gently they are working towards an album and have already received great feedback from listeners on the internet. The Terrakabok is a dynamic mix of cultures, they both feel like they are living in this world as individuals and are not attached to homeland culture or boarders. Musically they are influenced by music from all over the world, from pop to classical, from the 60's till now, and with these ingredients they create a unique sound, with each song as a world on it's own, which is The Terrakabok.
