I am here for Dating, Serious Relationships and Friends

About Me

I'm a graphic designer at a large format graphics house. I do a lot of vehicle wraps, billboards, and banners, as well as a lot of retail signage. I have many non-geek interests & qualities(cooking, photography, design, I have a full time job, I want to travel more, etc...) but hey, I also have a few more 'esoteric' (geekey) hobbies (see Geek Interests).

I sometimes want to get my friends for a night out, but am also just as happy working on the project du-jour with a dvd in the player. I also LOVE going on road trips! It's the Jack Kerouac in me I guess. I have also picked up my guitar again after a number of years away from it.

I recently had my first trip abroad. I went to Scotland for a 10 day roadtrip. We landed in Glasgow, got our cars, and drove up the west side of the country, around and down the east to Edinburgh. It was amazing. As a result I want to do more travelling. Next stop hopefully? Osaka, Japan.

My Interests

Non-Geek Interests: Movies (I just really like movies), Graphic Design, DIA, Cooking, Fencing (though I havent dont it for a while), History, Bowling, Museums, Road Trips (I love driving), Aviation (want to get my pilot's liscense one day), Brewing beer, I one day want to make my own trebuchet (look it up)

Geek Interests: Rennaisance Fest, Making Chainmail, Gaming(D&D, etc), SF & Fantasy movies, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign

I'd like to meet:

I like meeting all sorts of people. My friends comment to me how I seem to know a weirdly diverse spectrum of people. I would like to meet a girl who likes the Ren Fest, movies, and can share in my more-geeky pursuits. Or at least tolerate and live with them. But she should, above all, be her own person.

I would also love to meet Alton Brown, Anthony Bourdain, Matsuharu Morimoto, Tom Collichio, & Robert Irvine.

Music:

The Smithereens, Kiss, Nightwish, Iggy Pop, Sisters Of Mercy, Bauhaus, The 69 Eyes, Love & Rockets, Dropkick Murphys, Jackdaw, Black 47, The Hives, The Cult.

I like 70s & 80s rock, as well as early metal, alternative/indie, and celtic-rock. Rockabilly is also not to be underestimated.

Movies:

Lord Of The Rings, Braveheart, Just about any Robin Hood story. Just got Flyboys on DVD (Its a pretty and fun WWI fighter pilot movie, if not terribly accurate.) and many more...I am the proud owner of a constantly expanding DVD collection. The Godfather I & II (III was terrible), Amadeus, and one of my Cult-Movie favorites - Streets Of Fire (Just got it on DVD).

Television:

Top Chef, Project Runway, Battlestar Galactica, Good Eats, Who Wants To Be A Superhero?, History Channel, Dirty Jobs, Deadliest Catch, Heroes, Anything with Gordon Ramsay (BBC versions are better than US versions),

Books:

I'm currently working my way thru all the James Bond novels. Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain. Anything by David Sidaris. Microserfs, Just read 'The Making of a Chef' by Michale Ruhlman.

Heroes:

Some people I would consider heroes? Chuck Yeager (met him once), Pancho Barnes, Eddie Rickenbacker, Ben Franklin, Steve Wozniak, Bud Anderson (Met him once), Bob Hoover (and met him once).
