When you're the oldest of six younger siblings you have to come up with a way to get their respect so that you can maintain some form of control over them. A number of people do it with violence and force; beating their brothers and sisters into submission. Some individuals opt for the path of integrity and through constant praise and social proof from others they draw out the admiration of their younger relatives to want to "be like them". There are many ways to get the job done and I've opted for one of the easiest: Humor. When you can get someone laughing then you can get on his or her good side and probably get them to do stuff for you. Humor doesn't do much in the way of getting them to look up to you or developing moral integrity but it loosens them up and makes them like you more. That's a huge part of how and why I got funny. To significantly dilute the anger of a brother who has just gotten into a fight is an interesting thing, and the feeling I get from causing such a transition is what I live for. When I can make my sisters smile through tears and eventually giggle uncontrollably with dry faces then I'm happy(er).
It's like...don't worry be happy. Like the hokey pokey...that's what it's all about.
I'm pretty....pretty hilarious (and I'm pretty too). I enjoy making others laugh. It's what I do it's a gift and a curse.
