About Me
we are looking for a new drummer!Although the sound of Signalive's varied rock music is buried deeply within the roots of various American rock styles, their journey started in a small town in Israel. Co-founders, Dooby and Saar, met while in their early teens. "We went to the same junior high...we played together at the graduation for our school," says Dooby. "Since that day our musical relationship has remained strong."
During high school, under the influences of rock bands like 'Dream Theater' & 'Faith No More', they formed two bands named 'Intelligent Conclusion' and 'Phobia'. "We sat outside a friend's house and talked about our dislike of the direction our music was taking", says Saar. "The band that we had at that time was doing very poorly...I was so sick and tired of this music that I wanted to quit, but Dooby convinced me not to..."
In April of 2002, after finding vocalist Oren and Bass guitarist Alon Shulman, they formed 'Diva Dynamite'. The four then started to write songs guided by Saar's guitar riffs and Oren's lyrics. Soon the band started to perform their music in the clubs of Tel-Aviv, with the help of Dooby & Saar's friend Tay, who became their manager and eventually a band mate. After a couple of gigs the band decided to part ways with Oren, due to a lack of satisfactory performances. The band auditioned for a new singer and found vocalist Ran Yerushalmi. With his astonishing voice and his amazing act he led the band to receive very good reviews.
Next, the band recorded their first demo, which included the songs Journey, Break You, and Just a Man. In January of 2004 Ran Yerushalmi decided to leave the band and continue with another project, in Israel, While the band decided to move to the USA. A short time after the split the band decided to put on one last show, in June 2004 with a new bassist Tay J. Tay, previously the band's manager, replaced Shulman in the line up shortly after Ran left the band. Just before the band came to the US they recorded a 6 song EP.
Once in the US, the band started a long and difficult search for a vocalist. This search turned out to be pointless, until they found Danny. Danny is a Chicago based rocker who's voice took the band to a new level. Saar and Danny began writing songs immediately, and when the chemistry was right, Saar called Dooby (in Israel) and Tal (in Texas) and told them to get to Chicago. With the new lineup complete, the band renamed themselves to Signalive and continued writing new music to complement the old. The band began intensive rehearsals in January of 2005 with hopes of playing gigs within the month. One month later, Signalive began playing the Chicago scene.
