Against The Grain (EP out now!!)

About Me

In the summer of 2005, a few friends got together to form a band. Up until their first show, they did not have a name, but a few days before, the drummer Tait had decided on Against the Grain, and the name has stuck ever since. After a few ups and downs, comings and goings, the band has managed to get through it and sputter out fantastical tunes about as fast as the sprinklers in your front yard. When asked why they sound like they do, guitar player Rob Arndt says, "We play what we would want to hear if we went to a concert." "We're NOT POP" says drummer Tait Oehler. ____________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________ Against the Grain's musical sound can be most credited to their different tastes in music, clashed together to create something fresh, and pleasing to the ear. The purpose of Against the Grain was to not necessarily be a 'Christian Band' but to send a positive message to people with lyrics formed from situations that define who they are, not just as a band, but as people striving for something better. "So many times we see bands and the people that form them sell out to the man just for fame and popularity, and become something that they're not..there's something just not right about that. WE DID IT! We won Battle of the Bands, and let me tell you, it was quite a show...one band that performed did not have a bass player, and another "band"... was one guy on an electric drum kit doing so...
