Saphere was formed by Micke and Martin in spring 97. School and sports were clearly not ment for us, so we thought why not be rockstars! We wrote 4 songs and during the summer we recorded our first demotape. It was probebly the worst one ever made, but we had so much fun doing it that weve played more or less day and night ever since. After a couple of months of practice we did our first live gig, joined by Dennis on the bass. We were great! Unfortunately Dennis quit the band soon after. Finding a good bassist and a solo guitarist in a small town isnt easy, but we were lucky.. We met Henke (Bass) and Nicke (guitarist) not long after Dennis quit, and they were just perfect! Now we were a real punk/rock band! Gigs almost every week and we were given scholarships for promoting cultural life in our hometown Västervik. After winning a nordic music contest in summer 00 we took a trip to Finland for a couple of gigs. We were also given the opportunity to open for some great artists, such as: The Hives, Hellacopters, Thåström etc.. Life was good to us and we all had a great time, so then of course something had to go wrong. Nicke decided to quit the band. F**k! Not the end of the world however, cause that led us to the next great member of the band, Mats! Back on track again and hard rockin. Summer04: The four of us are having a hard time finding motivation for the hard work of keeping the band moving forward. Some of us had to work and there wasnt enough time and will to keep it together. The time had come to take a brake. In fact we didnt even know if we would ever play together again. Some of us traveld for a while and others tried playing in other bands, but after 6 months we got together again to decide the future of Saphere. Henke wanted out, but the rest of us are more motivated now then ever before. We gathered our gear and moved to Gothenburg to get a fresh new start and to leave all our old shit behind. Luck was finaly on our side again and we found a deacent rehersal spot after just a few weeks, and a new bass player (Johan) not long after. So here we are now, stronger then ever, waiting to conquer the the world and to show you all what Punk/Rock is really about// Saphere
