About Me

Cue personal ad-speak...I am a (cough) thirtysomething freelance writer (read: poor, but with my values intact, thank you very much) who lives in a boring little town. Thank GOD I am close to pockets of coolness like Baltimore, DC and Philadelphia, lest I completely lose my mind.

I have a crazy little girl named Genevieve who recently said "I think I might like to go to a sushi bar for dinner, as long as they have a Karaoke bar so I can sing..." (she is FOUR).

I LOVE music, and hit concerts and clubs whenever I can. I totally DIG Squeeze/Glenn Tilbrook, Nick Harper, Crowded House, Madness, Split Enz, and all those other wonderful bands that, when I mention them, cause people to shoot me a perplexed and pitying look. In my spare time, I like to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer and West Wing reruns (because I am both a vampire junkie AND a political junkie) and read really really well-written books.

But mostly I like to quietly nuture my decades-long infatuations with my favorite musicians. I claim to have had a crush on Glenn Tilbrook since 1981 (when I was...erm...9 years old). I am nothing if not persistent.
For more information about me and the things I do online (now don't get kinky - down boy!), check out:

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I have met all the really amazing people I needed to meet. Of course, I would never turn down the chance to meet them again.Although if I were given the opportunity to time travel or commune with the spirits, I would absolutely want to meet the brilliant and beautiful Lee Morse.
Your EQ is 140
50 or less: Thanks for answering honestly. Now get yourself a shrink, quick!
51-70: When it comes to understanding human emotions, you'd have better luck understanding Chinese.
71-90: You've got more emotional intelligence than the average frat boy. Barely.
91-110: You're average. It's easy to predict how you'll react to things. But anyone could have guessed that.
111-130: You usually have it going on emotionally, but roadblocks tend to land you on your butt.
131-150: You are remarkable when it comes to relating with others. Only the biggest losers get under your skin.
150+: Two possibilities - you've either out "Dr. Phil-ed" Dr. Phil... or you're a dirty liar. What's Your EQ (Emotional Intelligence Quotient)?
