About Me

BIOGRAPHY
Sound Storm was founded 2002 in Turin, a city in the north west of Italy. Back in those days the band consisted of six members and played classical heavy metal songs, like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Savatage and many other bands, cover versions. Sound Storm was and is heavy influenced by Symphonic, Epic Metal, Power Metal, Classical and Celtic Folk Music.
The bands first practical experience was gained by gigs around the local music scene in city's pubs. A first demo was recorded in 2003 and included four cover versions of Manowar, Iron Maiden and Savatage.
Soon the band started composing their own material, with the first three or four tracks finished by the end of 2003. The line up of the band changed when the second guitarist Davide left the band at the beginning of 2005 and the previous bass player Saverio was replaced with Massimiliano.
Sound Storm entered the recording studio again to record their first own song - "We are Vikings". For the first time the band performed at live shows with their own creations with songs like: "We are Vikings", "The Loser's Nightmare" and "Queen of the Ice". In October of 2005 the band decided to record six further songs in their own private studio, which resulted in the release of the demo. "The Storm Is Coming" including a re-mix of "We Are Vikings".
In September 2006 Sound Storm entered again the recording studio to record the new Ep, "Northern Wilderness". A totally new version of the song "We are Vikings", re-recorded and re-arranged, even more epic! Sacred Storm got here a new powerful and aggressive sound thanks to new arrangements and orchestrations. "Northern Wilderness" includes a new version of the ballad "Queen of the Ice" and the unreleased "Thunders and Rain", a totally new and epic song, with orchestral interlude and a soprano as special guest. With "Northern Wilderness" Sound Storm became even darker and more introspective, due to a new direction in Sound Storm's style where the epic and viking metal meet gothic and horror atmospheres.
The new Ep has been released on the 1st of February 2007.
In June 2007 the band joins Alkemist-Fanatix Europe management, surely one of the most important agency in Italy regarding management and promotion. And finally in January 2008 Sound Storm signs a record deal with Risingworks Records and the producer Frank Andiver.
Sound Storm’s debut album is entitled “Twilight Opera” and it will be released in fall 2008. It will be distributed by Self in Italy and Plastic Head in the rest of the world under Risingworks Records. With an incredibly high quality production, strings section and a 9-pieces choir, the album has also been mastered at Finnvox Studios by Mika Jussila.
In the early days of 2009 the band decided to substitute Valerio Verderosa, keyboard player from the beginning.
The new era began and the new keyboard player is Alexandros, ex member and founder of Highlord and AmethistA, shredder-virtuoso maestro and one of the most talented player in Italy.
Finally in May 2009 Sound Storm signs a worldwide record deal with the prestigious british label Rising Records - candidated as best metal label at the Hammer Golden Awards 2009 - which releases “Twilight Opera” all over the world, including Japan and Canada.
With an incredibly high quality production, strings section, a 9-pieces choir, mastered at Finnvox Studios by Mika Jussila, “Twilight Opera” is released in Europe on 28th August and in United Kingdom on 31st August 2009, when the band begins a tour all across Europe.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

New Album is coming soon:

The timeless theme of the theatre, which has crossed the Centuries following many different paths, reaches today a new frontier. It becomes the majestic setting of an innovative, obscure and epic Opera, cradled by the decadent sun of the Twilight. Sound Storm intend to recreate this polyhedric ambience in a unique, complex album: “Twilight Opera”.

It consists in a mixture of modern and classical music, executed with piercing guitars, pounding drums, devilish, aethereal and guttural voices, associated with a strings ensemble and a magnificent 8-pieces choir. The scores breathe emotions page after page.

“Twilight Opera” is not a concept album with a single theme, but each theme has got, in common with the other ones, the theatre as background. So on the stage the spectator will witness a stream of scenes such as the battle between Good and Evil (where Good is not always the absolute winner), the immortality of True Love and the different ways of living of the mankind.

Produced in Italy by Frank Andiver, mastered in Finland by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios, distributed in about 30 countries, “Twilight Opera” is the band’s first worldwide step. The accuracy of every single detail derives from years of work, led by the purpose of achieving an imposing debut.

Joining this show, enjoying this one-act play, you will undertake a journey with no return, where every note will soak mind and body with a never-ending succession of comedy and tragedy. The curtains are off, let the Storm carry you away in a withering, pleasant world, let the Opera cross your threshold…
