There is no place on earth like DC . . . Me? I am from Beckely, WV and currently live in LA by way of DC. I am a mom, a filmmaker, a published poet, a producer and an award winning screenwriter. My work has been featured on BET, Genesis Poets Music Inc, A&U Magazine, Girlchild Press and A Campaign to End Aids. I have a passion for butterflies, blow pops, and advocados(since I have been in LA I think I eat one everyday), I love black and white pictures, children laughing, and DC :-). I really like old school Jazz (Su Ra, Pharoe Saunders . . .), and I am still learning old school hip -hop (I was a late bloomer with that and now I am greatful cause 95 rap in a lot of ways is still new to me, and with the bull on the radio that makes me happy). I live in Los Angeles now, and work for yet another non-profit, and I am currently writing my first feature length film, and writing a treatment for a documentary, (this is starting to sound like a "SBF seeking ad" so I must stop now LOL!). Basically I work my ass off for a cause, and for art, but mostly so that I can drive my boys to school both ways each day, and never have to worry about the lights going out and to teach them the value of having a vision and seeing it to the end.
