'Rude Ass presents' What's in a name? And what's on the man's mind? There is the songwriter, musician Ruud Slingerland with an unstoppable urge to kick new songs into a world already overcrowded with great music. Just looking for new pictures, I guess. There are these cassette tapes:''Kill the Chicken', 'Get Up On It.....On Your Bike', 'Rude Ass & Friends' from the old days of lo-fi recordings. The 4-track Tascam 'working horse' as a sketchbook. Recordings kept rough and close to the initial idea. There is this film: 'the Rude Ass Contraction hits the Cellar' in which five freaky archetypal musicians come together in a damp rehearsal basement. All played by the same person, Ruud Slingerland, just like he plays all the parts on his 4-track homerecordings. Ten short trashy songs and instrumentals in fifteen minutes of Underground Video.There is this c.d. 'the winding Road', a mix of songs and ideas, with a slow Country-feel combined with Classic orchestration. It could be described as the rocky journey of a songwriter through his past.There is this band ‘the Lost Soul Charity Fund’, that performed the music live in the Vera-Club in Groningen, Holland, changing the Basement-Bar of the club into a cozy living room.
