The Baha'i Faith, people, books, travelling throughout the world, eating pistachio gelato in Switzerland... the usual stuff.
some West Africans, I've only seen East Africans here.
Lots of different types. Especially the stuff that doesn't make my head explode or that doesn't make me want to drown my sorrows in a frosty mug of apple juice. You heard me. Apple juice.
Hmmmm. When there is electricity, the house I am temporarily staying in right now has a lot of movies. Unfortunately they are all on old VHS tapes and are recorded in SLP mode, so the quality is not the crisp HD DVD kinda thing I got used to in the US. But I watched Hot Shots again recently, and I also watched a really, really bad movie called "The Marine and the Princess." I know, I should have known from the title how bad it would be. But my friend Samah suggested it.
I don't watch television anymore, not even a little. I liked a show called Firefly, but it was cancelled soon after it began. And... the usual that young white(ish) American guys like: Futurama, Family Guy, Simpsons.
I FINALLY finished the Dark Tower Series. Good books. And now I am trying to crack open some books on counselling so I can not break the poor students' minds when I try to fix them. And I like a lot of the Baha'i books (I'm starting to read Secrets of Divine Civilization & Advent od Divine Justice).
I admire lots of folk. I guess that the people that I am most endeared to are those who, in the words of Baha'u'llah, "possess a pure, kindly, and radiant heart." Like my departed grandparents. And my parents. And many of my old friends. And a lot of the new friends I've met here in Tanzania.
