Every Effort Made

About Me

Every Effort Made:
was formed nearly 8 years ago when two brothers, Jake (guitar and vox) and Zach (drums), found creativity and expression through the music they played. By the age of 15, Every Effort Made had recorded their first demo and released it to friends and family in their hometown of Grand Rapids, MN. At this time, a scene was beginning to grow in this small city, bringing about several different genred bands, a new venue, and a high respect for each other. With such local acts as A Corrosive Melody, You and Luck, Shipping High in Transit, Second Shade of Life, F.T.I., Dharma, and The Mute Decision, something was born that is still gaining respect to this day: a scene. During the first years, Every Effort Made recorded 3 demo tracks to be placed on a local comp. disc.
As time went on, new bands were formed and old bands moved on to college. And along with their friends in A Corrosive Melody, Every Effort Made stuck through the changes and played into recent years with such bands as Kamikaze Kite (with Jake as a member), Unleashed Chorale, Oedipus Effect, and various acts from the surrounding area. Throughout the years, a friend of the band had done some random vocals as much as possible. In late 2005, Jeremy was added to the line-up as bass and background vox. During the last year of high school, the shows and the scene seemed to grow as acts from all over the nation came through Grand Rapids and stopped to play at the Ground Floor. As the time grew closer to college, the question of playing shows grew slim. There was an official last show at the end of August and it was both fun and emotional as the scene came together to say goodbye. But from there, we all knew that it wasn’t over. Every Effort Made decided to stick around and play shows as often as possible. For now, Every Effort Made are working on getting shows around the state and possibly in your area. Look out for a new demo out this summer with new material that we will get out to our friends.

We currently are in different locations making it difficult to practice and play shows. Zach is in the Duluth/Superior area and Jeremy and Jake are in Minneapolis at two different schools. Basically, living each day to the next and putting trust where we feel needed. We attempt to write the best music we can, have the most fun we can, and live up to our beliefs the best we can. Thanks to everyone who goes out to shows and supports local music no matter what genre or belief the band has.
We have played with many great bands, including Stnnng, The Blind Shake, Mark Mallman, Sicbay, The April Epidemic, Falcon Crest, Malachi Constant, The Soviettes, The Wayward, Bear Garden, Heads and Bodies, Nostalia, Said the Shotgun, 29 Dead, The Hat Party, Houndrunner, and Planes for Spaces. We love the locals too such as A Corrosive Melody, Kamikaze Kite, and we will always hold a place in our hearts for You and Luck and The Mute Decision.
Come out to a show and have fun. Thank you!
