About Me

THE WHOLE STORY
The Beginning

In 1996, Christopher Tzompanakis and John Clerkin began speaking about the idea of putting together a band. Both had other priorities at the time, Christopher was attending college in Rhode Island while John was busy with his other group Suspect 7. The idea was simply to start a side project, something to do for fun as various other members of Suspect 7 had side projects of their own. The two practiced together with friends rounding out the remaining instruments in the lineup under the moniker Jedi Mind Trick. Soon after it became apparent that Suspect 7..s days were clearly coming to a close and Cameron Keym (Suspect 7..s guitarist) was asked to join the lineup. He accepted and with him brought in his friend (and bass player of his current side project Failsafe) Matt Woisin. Local friend and drummer Brian Parker would eventually be recruited to complete the band. By late 1996 the name skycamefalling was adopted and in mid-1997 their demo entitled ..A Penny For Your Confessions.. was recorded; a demo that would make it all the way to Belgium and in the hands of Good Life Recordings. At this point it became clear that the band was more than just a side project. Skycamefalling entered the studio in 1998 to record their debut EP ..To Forever Embrace The Sun.. for Good Life Recordings. At some point in 1999 relations with Good Life became strained and the band would sign with New Jersey..s Ferret Music. It would be nearly 2 years until skycamefalling would re-emerge with their debut full length for Ferret entitled ..10.21.., but by that point everyone knew that things had changed.
The Middle
During the writing sessions of skycamefalling bassist Matt Woisin departed from the group. While only temporary, Camerons brother Andrew recorded the bass tracks on 10.21 and shortly thereafter Joe Micolo stepped in on bass. While touring in support of the album, Joe decided to leave the group and with several tours already booked, Keith In Hell (of Hellfest fame) jumped aboard to fill the vacant bass position. After nearly two years of touring in support of the album, skycamefalling headed home to regroup and finally settle on a permanent lineup. However while one hole was filled with bass player Sal Mignano another had opened with original drummer Brian Parker. The band scrambled to find a drummer on short notice since a tour with From Autumn To Ashes had been booked for the winter of 2002.
The End
TJ Orscher, the drummer for In Pieces, filled in on the FATA tour and numerous tours thereafter, but it was pretty apparent that he couldnt commit full time with his band already gaining a fan base. Sal asked friend Rob Hollahan to join the band for the summer of 2002 with Warped Tour dates and numerous tours already scheduled. Rob agreed and would also record the demo (that would later become the self titled EP) with the group. TJ again rejoined for a few remaining Warped Tour shows later that summer and in late 2002 Joe Zizzo would permanently fill the drummer position. However by this point the members were already starting to go in different directions and with other aspects of their lives starting to take precedence skycamefalling decided it was in their best interest to part ways. In September of 2002, the band announced their official break up and they would go on to play a few scattered shows until one final performance at Hellfest 2003.
