The surprise came earlier in the evening when opener Urban Messiah took the stage. Woody Harrelson, who has been busy making movies but is best remembered for his role behind the bar in Cheers, now has a role in front of the bar. He co-fronts the band along with Jerry Joseph (Little Women) on bass. Joined by Steve Abramson ..boards, Alfrons Kettner on guitar, and Gee Gee Harbor on drums, Urban Messiah delivered a scorching set to the delight of the surprised crowd that kept yelling out “Wooody!†“American Boy†was a standout in this tight set, but “Show Me,†“Two Balloons,†“The Meaning,†and “Dixie Mattress†were also noteworthy.

"Mason's Children"

"Get your stop watches out as Steve Abramson chases Danny Kaye's world record for Kurt Weill's "Tchaikovsky" from Lady in the Dark. (Stage Manager Mia Hansen will have a fire extinguisher at the ready in case the piano or Steve's teeth catch fire.) After the wreckage is cleared, Ivan Berger, Jeff Dunn, and Jim Hogan will dance and sing Cole Porter's "Siberia" from Silk Stockings."
