Tommy Gallagher Band

Honky-Tonk Hell Raisers

About Me

For most of the guys, music runs thick in their blood and is carried back a couple of generations. The Tommy Gallagher band was originally started in April 2004, when Tommy Gallagher and Steven Lewis split off from a band they were playing in and decided to form their own band with a Texas Country sound. After finding the right connections, they formed a band that blew their own expectations out of the water. Influenced by Texas Country icons like Cross Canadian Ragweed and Pat Green, the band soon had a smokin Texas music sound all their own.The TG Band is Tommy Gallagher, lead vocals, rhythm acoustic guitar; Steven Zuniga, drums and backup vocals; Ken Chrostowski, bass guitar; and Gabe Hanson, lead guitar, harmony vocals and talk box.Within the first three months of their existence, the Tommy Gallagher Band had opened for well-known touring acts like Stoney Larue, Max Stalling, Bo Salling and the Brakes Are All Gone Band, and Mike McClure of Great Divide. The Tommy Gallagher Band was a regular fixture on Friday and Saturday nights at Texas Country proving ground, the Golden Light Cantina. By mid-August 2004, with headlining appearances at the Blue Light and the Golden Light under their belts, the band made their debut at Midnight Rodeo, as the main act.The band has been in the studio recently, recording three singles. The first was a Christmas song, Christmas From Another Land, written by Gallagher especially for the Evelyn Rivers Christmas CD, due in Hastings stores by Thanksgiving, 2004. Next, the band hit A.M.P. Recording Studio in Amarillo to cut a Gabe Hanson original, I Know How to Fly and Lewis Gunnin for You. They are now about to complete their first C.D. which should be out sometime in early 2006Tommy Gallagher, formerly of Hereford, Texas, now lives in Amarillo. Tommy comes to the music business with big boots to fill. Named after his grandfather, Honky Tonk legend Tommy Allen, Gallagher remembers riding his grandfathers tour bus as a boy. Allen was a published singer/songwriter in Nashville for Cedarwood Publishing Company and toured many of the legendary honky tonks in Texas, playing with country music greats like Lefty Frizzel and Bob Wills. Gallaghers grandfather, now in his mid-seventies, still plays and writes today in Crystal City, Texas. Steven Zuniga is originally from Tulia, Texas and now lives in Amarillo. Music is in Zunigas genes as well. He grew up watching, and sometimes joining, his father on stage in popular area Tejano bands. Steven learned at an early age to sing and play the saxophone like his father, Jesse. He also plays the guitar, piano, and drums.Ken Chrostowski, formerly of Dumas, is now a Canyon, Texas resident. Chrostowski played in a metal band, called Renegade which toured with Eddie Money until 1983. Ken also plays in a local rock band, Rock Bottom and recorded an album with the Ralph Switch Band.Gabe Hanson is originally from Goodnight, Texas, and now lives in Amarillo. He attends West Texas A&M University in Canyon. Gabe has played for the past five years in his father's band called The Horneytoads, recently re-named "Section 8", who played at Amarillos annual Polk Street Block Party and several other events.
