Church,International travel, Shopping, Reading, Movies, Dancing (I take dance 3 times a week at The Loft Dance and Fitness....LOVE IT!!) Otherwise, I'm pretty standard. Can I live vicariously through you?
As I peruse myspace, I notice that everyone says they want to meet God/Jesus and it's starting to sound cliche. So, I'm going to say it, but know that I'm serious. I don't know what he looks like and I'm not convinced that any one religion has a lock on God. But I do know that there have been times in my own life where I am certain that a higher power was acting on my behalf. So whether you believe or not is up to you, but I am content with the knowledge I have and am thankful for each and every experience. Now... just in case he is listening, let me point out that I'm not in any rush to meet you. I'm cool right now, but Thank you for taking the time to listen.
I am pretty mellow when it comes to my music tastes, but I like people who can SANG. I like those people who get so far into their music they don't realize they're making ugly faces. Rachelle Ferrell, Syleena Johnson, and Jill Scott are a few of my current favs. But I could go back... Stephanie Mills, Vesta, Miki Howard (you get the point).
I think I'm a bit of an old soul. Sit and stay awhile and listen to a few of my favorites.
Sixteen Candles is my favorite movie of all time.. Yeah, I said it! Cheesy I know, but... what can you do? lol.
Don't even own a television.
I LOVE TO READ!! Push by Sapphire, Assata, Long Walk To Freedom, and The Prisoner's Wife are all a few of my favorite reads in the last 5 years. But I won't front and act like I only read intellectually stimulating material... I love reading those Arabesque and Kimani black romance novels too.I recently just finished "Deconstructing Tyrone" by Natalie Hopkinson and Natalie Y. Moore. Very good read!
"Ghetto Nation" by Cora Daniels is a good one too.
WHAT I'M READING RIGHT NOW:
Black on the Block: The Politics of Race and Class in the City by Mary Pattillo.
My family.
