Hi, my name is Jonathan Alberico. I have a deep passion for art, every aspect of it, music, film, painting, drawing, but mostly sculpture. I've always been drawn to sculpture, something about how someone can take an old soup can or a wad of clay and turn it into beautiful art. I love to work with found objects and bones. I think my love for bones comes from my curiosity for what lies beneath everyone and everything, and the need to know how everything works. I always found the darker side of art fascinating, nothing sinister just something that will scare or disturb you, or strike a nerve, like Yoko Ono's "Cut Piece" a beautiful and peaceful image but a powerful meaning and protest.
I don’t think of myself as an artist, I think I’m more along the lines of someone that loves art and tries to keep up.
When I was in school I was asked to write an “Artist Bio†about myself. I told my professor “ but I’m not an artist, I’m just a kid that makes the shit I see in my head.“ To this day I don’t think of myself as an artist and I don’t think I make art, I just make things I think are neat and if someone likes them too and wants to buy one, more power to them cause I can use the money.

“How come every time I come to one of your openings I feel sick when I leave? I like to think of your work as the most beautiful thing I've ever been raped by.â€

"I don't know what the hell is wrong with you, I wish I did. But it seems to be working out in your advantage so I guess, keep it up."
