About Me

NEWS: (March. 20, 2008)

We are in the studio again with Escandalo (See friends section below, Members include Desi who is Monster in the friends section below, and Viva.) Our first project with them, entitled La Bruja, is currently being shopped and remixed, so stay tuned for official release details! This project has many influences, but think new-school tribal freestyle thrown into a witchcraft cauldron. Also stay tuned for more live performances by Escandalo. Escandalo page (below) has photos from our first live show at Deitch.
We are also in the studio again with The Ones working on a top secret project. Details coming soon. The One's most recent collaboration with Automagic called "When We Get Together" is the Ones' current single. It's very Sylverster-esque. The remixes sound amazing!! The song is now on Billboard's Club Play Chart, and the video is all over TV on networks like LOGO, but you can check it out on YouTube as well. The Ones' newest album NYC Jungle is also out and available for download through Itunes and beatport.com . Automagic has 2 productions on this latest version of the album. Included are Josh Peace's RMX of "When We Get Together" and Automagic's Upsidedown Dub of "I'm Going To Go". "I'm Going To Go" has evolved a lot since it was released as a vinyl single a couple of years back. Automagic produced a full vocal version of the song and turned in a crazy totally morphed dub as well for the single. As it turned out, the dub won the race, so it is included in edited format on the album. See the Ones' profile below from our friend's section.
We are also currently finishing up remixes for our project with Da Lipstyxx (see them in friends section below) called FIERCE. It is Runway House at its finest. The girls have been performing this live. The original version is complete and posted above.

Automagic has completed an EP of downbeat material, pretty different than anything we've ever done before. 2 of the tracks are posted above. We have just begun to shop this project to find the right home for it.

Shimmer by Automagic is set to be released as part of a CD compilation series through Background records. In addition, it will be released on vinyl as part of an EP from the compilation. Background is a cool new label run by Craig Roseberry, whom we love. Release is set for early '09, details to follow!!

"One Day My Love" by N'Dea Davenport (written with and produced by Automagic):Peaked on Billboard's Clubplay chart at 10. The UK vinyl release through Dozer has come out in the UK. That release included our original version and a new remix by Paul Jackson. The D. Ramirez mix was also included on the 3 disc Fierce Angels compilation through Universal. It is on itunes as well as many other download sites. You can get a high quality download (much bigger file but better sound!) on beatport.com . In addition to the Automagic remix, I recommend the Steve Travolta Mix, the Good & Evil Mix and the D. Ramirez mix.

::::::::::::::::::::Automagic :DJ Will & Bryan Wright met in the East Village of NYC one night, decided to collaborate on music, started grooving on a loop from an old Jean Carn record, and something good was born. Countless dizzying years later, they have vocal house projects on PeaceBisquit/Curve, Buzzin Fly, Definity, and Chillifunk; tracks and remixes on King Street, KID, Inspira, A Touch Of Class, and Captivating Records; and music licensed all over the world to Classic in the U.K., other labels all over Europe, and in Japan and South Africa.
Automagic's house sound has been described as "Electro-Soul," and "Dubby Disco." Automagic would say their musical style is informed by Loft/Garage, a deep appreciation for dub reggae, an emphasis on songwriting and innovative arrangement, and a need to explore new territories in sound.::::::::::::::::DJ Will::::::::::::::::DJ Will aka William Lynn, came up in Austin, TX, started DJing at the tender age of 14, and along the way developed a wild record collection of soul, reggae, disco, funk, acid jazz and house. He has DJed all over New York since 1992 and around the world in more recent years. Will’s monthly party with SeanB is called SPANK! It's at a different location each month. We feature new underground music and performance art. Will also holds down a residency at Barracuda (with Shasta Cola!). Recent guest spots around town have been at Glasslands, Metropolitan, Bana, Eastern Bloc, Pieces (don't try it that place rules), and Mr. Black (the old location and the new location!).
Among his favorite past NYC residencies was the innovative night, Incommon, which he ran with SeanB who, at that time, was part of an underground sound system called Freeskool. There he DJed alongside Jay-J, Julius Papp, Osunlade, Afronaught, Charlie Dark, The Greenskeepers, Honey Dijon, Jeannie Hopper, Matthias Heilbronn, and Neil Aline among others. In Automagic, Will focuses on musical concepts, on beats, on tweaking sounds and effects until they are just right, and on very careful almost obsessive arrangement. Layers of sound and spaces in sound take on new meaning and excitement on the dance floor and the power of precisely controlled subtlety comes through. Will's sense of adventure allows him to draw on the power of the moment and the magic feeling in the studio to take chances that pay off.:::::::::::::::Bryan Wright:::::::::::::::Bryan Wright hails from Los Angeles, but started DJing in 1989 at a dirty firetrap in downtown Manhattan, playing funk, soul and disco to a throng of boozy, pre-Giuliani era partiers. Eventually he graduated to regular spots at a nasty little afterhours club called Hollywood. Over the years he played lots of parties and clubs in New York, honing his disco/house/garage sensibility along the way. He is Automagic's very honest and talented primary lyricist. He waxes nostalgic about the early days, when "the song was king", and strives to bring back the strong tradition of Songwriting in dance music. A technology freak, he harnesses a cadre of audio tools to suit Automagic's other worldly soundscapes. His production style strikes a balance between tradition and experimentation, and he injects funk and soul into the groove, so the people can move their fat asses.
