Long ago, near the desolately cold surface of Saturn, there existed an almost infinitely large Electro-Magnetic Field who spent most of his days contemplating the space-time continuum. He liked this particular gas giant most of all because, whenever he was bored enough, he could lick his countless ethereal fingers and play gorgeous symphonic melodies on the icy rings that ever orbit his chilly home.
One day, on a warm little blue rock, a Mad Scientist in Dallas, Texas, invented a huge photon space warp rocket, strapped herself to it, and arbitrarily aimed it at Saturn. Travelling at nearly the speed of light, it took her around an hour and a half to hear the soul crushing music resonating from the rings of this outerworld. Hopelessly enveloped in the eerily beautiful song, she tried oh so hard to slow down her maniacal astromissile, that she might continue to listen, but unfortunately, it was already overpowered by the planet's immense gravitational pull.
Upon impact, the electro-magnetic field combined with the rocket's anti-electron dark matter fusion engine and exploded into a kajillion tiny funky dust particles. It made for quite the asthetically pleasant laser light show.
Two years later in Charlottesville, Virginia, some of the particles entered the Earth's atmosphere and recombined into two young musicians. This was around ten o'clock at night and all of a sudden a Crazed Vampire leapt out of the shadows and attacked the musicians, adeptly forcing them to join his blood-thirsty night-crawling existence. And he turned out to be a pretty freaky awesome drummer, so they started a band (Astronomers).
When they are not melting faces and inventing new and kick ass quantum musical materials, the trio explores other fields of interesting phenomena.Nate fills his brain with random knowledge about the universe, writes songs, book shows, records music and keeps Alex in line. Alex paints, dyes and sculpts insanely rad hair, webmistresses, designs the posters, and handcrafts the tee shirts, stickers, and album artwork. Jamie enjoys conspiracy theories, internet video games and long walks on the beach.
