About Me
Starts her music studies in 1993 and dance training in 1995, studying in Portugal and was later awarded a scholarship to study in Holland. Have a Degree in Dance by Escola Superior de Dança, in Lisbon and the 4th degree of Hot Clube Jazz School. She attended several workshops in composition, performance and multimedia, improvisation, and theatre, from which she points out those under Vera Mantero, João Fiadeiro, Meg Stuart, Emmanuelle Huynh, Trisha Brown Dance Company, Francisco Camacho, Paulo Ribeiro, Filipa Francisco and Kirk Woolford. Works regularly as a dancer with Tiago Guedes and has worked with the IGLOO collective.
Created “Falling Up†a short dance piece-concert in 2007, “Renée Adorée†in 2006, co-produced by Alkantara Festival/Teatro Maria Matos and “Good Girls†in 2004, all with live music. This last one, was awarded with by Jovens Criadores ’05 contest (Clube Português de Artes e Ideias) and represented Portugal in the III Bienal dos Jovens Criadores da CPLP. In 2008 she is invited to represent Portugal in the International Dance Festival of Macau with all her works.
In 2006 creates with Eduardo Raon the project Ela-não-é-francesa-ele-não-é-espanhol, where she sings and is responsible for the arrangements. This group also develops parallel projects like the “shop-window†project (concert-instalation in shop-windows only with music from commercials) and a special opening for the Festival Monstra, where they collaborate with the British animation director Thomas Hicks.
Occasionally she collaborates with visual artists, with theatre companies and with recognised musicians like Pedro Moreira and I-Wolf (Sofa Surfers- Austria).
Her work has been presented in several theatres in Portugal, France, Slovenia, Russia, Macau e Mozambique.
In the last years she is been studying singing with the jazz singer Joana Machado.
In 2005, she created Zut!, a production structure for the promotion of her artistic work.
