About Me

BASED® Magazine launcing in Summer 2008, highlights individuals who are currently dominating their prospective career fields. Founder, Kenzie Smith, along with a small group of investors has created a publication that focuses on the evolving world of pop culture. Based® Magazine covers materials spanning from entertainment, news, business tips, features of musicians, actors, writers, and artists. Issued quarterly, BASED® Magazine’s target audience is as diverse as the faces that will grace its pages. BASED® Magazine is unique in the sense that it covers mutiple fields of interests by focusing on up-to-the-minute exclusives of products and artists in all facets of life. This will set them apart from well known competitors such as music magazines, The Source and Rolling Stone, which more narrowly focuses on rap, rock, and pop-centric genres of music. It also veers away from the ethnocentric targets that most culture magazines adhere to, which will in attract young and “mature” readers of many ethnicities. BASED® Magazine will feature assorted snippets of all cultures and subcultures alike. BASED® Magazine’s staff members are not adopting the ignorance is bliss approach in covering material for this magazine. Their motto is: “The more we can educate people, the more we feel that our job has been done.”
