MY FAV CAR: 57 Chevy Bel AirConceived as a fresh new look the Bel Air offered excitement in two ways. First, with bold new styling that included tailfins and hooded headlights. Second, with an all-new V-8 engine that would be first on the market to offer Ramjet fuel injection. The well-decorated 57 Bel Air was 2-1/2 inches longer than the 56 model, the better to show off those flashy fenders and rakish lines.
Claim to Fame: Aside from the much-admired exterior design, the Bel Air is best known for its optional 283 cubic-inch Super Turbo-Fire V-8 engine, which matched cylinder capacity with identical horespower numbers, a first for the industry.
Another of my passions is FASHION
Fashion is a synonym for glamour and style. In this sense, fashions are a sort of communal art, through which a culture examines its notions of beauty, and challenging these notions and stepping outside the social norms is where the fun is.
GOOD FASHION really is wearable art & a fantastic way of expressing yourself.
"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening." - Coco Chanel
"Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months." - Oscar Wilde
"The only thing that separates us from the animals is our ability to accessorize." - Olympia Dukakis
Marilyn Monroe
Marilyn Monroe personified Hollywood glamour with an unparalleled glow and energy that enamored the world. Although she was an alluring beauty with voluptuous curves and a generous pout, Marilyn was more than a '50s sex goddess. Her apparent vulnerability and innocence, in combination with an innate sensuality, has endeared her to the global consciousness. She dominated the age of movie stars to become, without question, the most famous woman of the 20th Century.
"Marilyn is a kind of ultimate. She is uniquely feminine. Everything she does is different, strange, and exciting, from the way she talks to the way she uses that magnificent torso. She makes a man proud to be a man."
-- Clark Gable
