When you think of drifting in the United States, Vaughn Gittin Jr. and his Bosch-powered 650-horsepower Ford Mustang have to come to mind. Vaughn has torn up tracks from Long Beach to Tokyo. He made drifting history in 2005 when he won the D1GP USA vs Japan event and then again in 2007 when he took the D1GP World Championship. Vaughn is the first and only American to win these prestigious events to date.
On September 6, 2008, Vaughn teamed up with Bosch to stage a one-of-a-kind event. Billed as "Performance Art," Vaughn drifted his Bosch-sparked Mustang through a closed course in downtown Los Angeles, Leaving a unique pattern of tire marks and creating his "Abstract on Asphalt." It was then photographed from seventy feet above.
