I am an insurance salesman in St. Petersburg. I graduated from the Citadel. My first gator football game I came to was with my friend. The gators were playing the Citadel that day and the gators were not playing very good. The fans where booing and yelling negative comments when the gators did something bad on the field. So I came up with an idea, when the gators do something bad why don't we just give them a cheer for encouragement. SO, I started an older cheer: The two bits cheer which many schools used at the time. I stood up and yelled two bits four bits six bits a dollar all for the gators stand up and holler. The cheer caught on and people wanted me to come all over the stadium to lead this cheer. This is how I became Mr two bits. When I first started the two bits cheer I used a horn to get the peoples attention. When I traveled to different sections of the stadium I decided that the horn was cumbersome so I witch to a whistle ,which I still use today.
