About Me

my name is shauna-rae. the first nickname i can remember having is nah nah, because my sister couldnt say my name when she was little. these days i answer to sister, miss rae, cuz, rae rae, razz, little drop of golden rae, shaunabona, shaunzie, shaunarrhea, shawnda, shauna bear (my mom), s+m, and biologist. i am quite fond off all them and the silly people in my life who gave them to me. you can call me shauna. technically its shauna m.s. (although my dad would prefer dr.) since i just completed a masters in immunology. besides spending time with the people i love, i mostly want to spend my life trying to make a difference in the world, and for now that is through research in environmental medicine and someday by practicing natural medicine. i believe that is through the earth that all answers to aliments lies, and there is too little appreciation for this, among other things...but it is up to our generation especially, "to be the change you want to see in the world". www.climatecrisis.net, and globalcool.com are nice websites to learn more about what we can do realistically to improve our environment (do it now!). to my own detriment, i am a hopeless idealist and romantic, who struggles to stay that way in a realist and often pessimistic universe, however, i have a renewed and strong belief in my own intuition, fate, karma, and all that is good.

music, yoga, reiki, meditation, soccer, science, natural medicine, teaching, learning, exploring small bookstores and coffee shops around different cities, the ocean, nature, understanding human nature, creating space, hiking in the winter, bonfires, cottages on the lake, early morning, talking with my parents, long naps, working on my house, poker, pitching quarters, dogs and other furry creatures, esp. two fat chocolate covered peanuts named dakota and denali.
