Steven Jay

I'm Steven Jay from south London. Set up 1st incarnation of Merlyns cave studio (8 track) for 5 years recording my own songs and local bands. Played drums in many bands, including Freefall (playing drums and writing lyrics), Direct Hits, played Marque Club, most top london venues, Played in Irish band with singer songwriter, Sean Delaney for 5 years, dozens of London pubs and clubs. Street opera (writing, arranging and producing all songs, and playing drums and keyboards). Moved out of London to Malvern, Worcestershire in '88, set up Merlyns Cave Studio, (24tr), worked for 11years, working for EMI, Mike d'Abo, John Peel, British Airways ad, BBC Radio, plus many other midland bands. Also playing with Journeyman ( drums, and winning the Best Drummer and The Best Band in the midlands 'Battle of the Bands' '92, award presented by Nigel Kennedy. Moved to France '99. Performed loads of gigs in surrounding area playing 12 string, piano, singing decent covers plus own stuff. Now I am working on my own songs to be released in the future, and enjoying the French lifestyle.
