Reviews say:
"Pieces like Farruca, with principal dancer, Jason Martinez, carry the dance to a transcedental level – Maritnez shuffles his feet to the point that he almost hovers just above the surface of the stage." - El Valle Hispanic News
"....Jason Martinez, whose lime-tinted boots drew attention to his astounding zapateado." - Albuquerque Tribune
"His breathtaking dancing left none in doubt of his talent, the sounds of his quick, precise steps, filling the theatre. It was almost spine–tingling thrilling at times." - Joanna Lewis, Caymanian Compass
Coming May 23rd and 24th!
We're professional flamenco dancers, based here in Tucson, AZ. My wife and I are original members of Yjastros: The American Flamenco Repertory Comany, an internationally renowned flamenco dance company out of Alburquerque, NM, under the direction of Joaquin Encinias. I have 11 years dance experience and 6 years cajon (flamenco percussion) experience. Mele has been dancing since she could walk, and it shows. We've both been featured as a soloists with Yjastros. We're available for performance and do travel. We teach private, semi-private, and group classes in all levels of flamenco dance and cajon. Workshops are also available. For information on current class schedules in Tucson, or for booking information please contact me at 520-309-8761 or email: [email protected]

One side of the flamenco coin

This is taken from an interview with a flamenco guitarist who I respect quite a bit, Canizares.  The full interview is on flamenco-world.com, but his words sum up a lot of things I've been thinki...
