About Me
Hello! My name is Robin Edwards, and I am a real person. You won't find fake information about me on this page!
The most important people to me are my family. I’m happily married (22 years!) and have three great children. I'm honest and straight forward, well grounded, genuine, hard working, caring and enjoy helping others.
I live in a little town called Pecos. It is located about 25 miles southeast of Santa Fe, New Mexico. I'm originally from a small town in Michigan, called Cassopolis. After earning my BA at Michigan State University, I moved to Montana. It is there that I met my husband. We moved around a bit and ended up in Pecos, 18 years ago. My husband is originally from New Mexico.
We live on 5 acres of "heaven". My daughter, 22, now lives on her own. We have two sons still at home, ages 16 & 18. Lucas just graduated from high school (yeah!!), so we don't know how much longer he'll want to stay home. We're hoping he'll hang around a while. We also own three dogs and two cats.
During the past 6 years my husband, Russell, and I have been enjoying a new hobby, motorcycle riding. You'll see pictures of us in the slide show below. We turned 51 this year, so maybe it's a midlife crisis type of thing. Who knows? I can tell you, however, that it's a blast!!
So why am I telling you all of this? It's because I want you to know me as a person. It's important to me that people who get to know me trust me. I believe honesty is the best policy.
..
..Until September, 30, 2008, I was the Operations Manager of a non-profit agency called Intermountain Youth Centers . We provided behavioral health services for Native American teens. The kids had a variety of mental health issues, from substance abuse and anger management, to being bipolar or having an attachment disorder. I started with the agency in 1990 as the Administrative Assistant and worked my way up. I became the Program Director in 2004. After 2 1/2 years of "living at the office", I decided to step down because I rarely saw my family. I accepted the Operations Manager position, which was created for me, in 2006. On July 24, 2008, I learned that Intermountain's New Mexico program was closing due to lack of appropriate funding. My last day of employment was September 30, 2008. My 18 years with Intermountain have been very rewarding. I will truly miss my work there. I will miss my coworkers, who have become "family", and I will miss being a part of an agency that did really important work.
Since I had to look for work anyway, I decided I needed a change. It is time for a change. I can wallow in self pity because I am now unemployed, or I can look on the bright side and explore all the various opportunities available to me. I decided that what I most want is to own my own successful home-based business. The business has to be enjoyable and replace the income I lost when I became unemployed. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks! Why not actually put some effort into a business that I already own and love? I have been treating the business like a hobby. Now I need to treat it as a business.
Over the past few months I have been learning to market my “hobby†on the internet. I conducted internet research, read books by internet guru’s, attended (and still attend) many free marketing training calls and webinars, and received personalized training from my team members. I have learned a lot, but I have only implemented a small fraction of the knowledge I have obtained. How foolish!!
I LOVE to help people! I decided that as I move forward and make my “hobby†a true business, that I will share my knowledge with others so I can help them be successful also. However, I will only help those who are willing to help themselves. I look forward to helping people who are serious about being successful in their own home-based business and are willing to put forth the effort required. There is a lot of money to be made on the internet. However, you have to work for it. Don't believe anyone who tells you that a program or business "sells itself". That simply is not true. When you begin a new business, whether it's a home-based business or a "bricks and mortar" type business, you initially spend a lot of time to get the business going. However, once you know how to market your business effectively, and you lay the ground work, you eventually will be able to reduce your work time to only a few hours per day.
Look for blogs on my page containing information you will find useful to help you grow your internet business, whatever it is. I will provide html tutorials, tips on making videos, links to FREE internet resources, information about traffic exchanges, and lots more. Feel free to send me a message if you need help with something in particular. I will either provide the information myself or tell you where you can get it if I can’t help you. Remember, I have 18 years experience with a company in which I ran the office, trained and supervised staff, and made sure our agency complied with licensing, certification and contract standards. I’m multi-talented and highly skilled and I’m offering to help you!
