My Interests

I like art, music, cinema, world cinema, galleries, drinking tea. I spend a lot of time painting and watching films from around the world. I enjoy going to gigs but am quite small and there's usually a really tall guy in front of me! Gigs I've fought to the front of include White Stripes, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and Beck. Artists I like include Morandi, Rothko, Jackson Pollock, Some Matisse, Braque and others I won't bore you with for now. The other thing that I really like doing is crocheting stuff (sometimes mistaken for knitting but isn't), particularly wristbands. Curently taking up all my time is accessory designing and making so that too! (it should be being the career plan)

I'd like to meet:

I'm bored of this secion... I like all you people I already know so you can add me if you've joined. mmm, and accessory designers to talk about handbags with! I'm bored stupid of bands trying to add me with no message. Sell yourselves please! I obviously can't say this enough, no random band friend requests, please at least send me a message to make me want to listen to your music before I delete your request.

Music:

Maybe if I write less here I will stop getting hassled by bands who haven't even sent me a message with their friend request! I like music, blah, blah, blah. Here's a snap shot. Talking Heads, David Byrne, Brian Eno, REM, Ok Go, The Flaming Lip, Rodrigo y Gabriela

Movies:

Lost in Translation, Before Sunset/ Sunrise, Waking Life, Donnie Darko, Ghost World, Wayne's World, all of Kevin Smith's stuff (my fave is Chasing Amy), Manhattan, Annie Hall, City of God, The Station Agent, Spirited Away, Napolean Dynamite, the Three Colours trilogy, world cinema in general and indie flicks, old films with Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn. My fave is Bringing Up Baby because it features lots of falling over. I've seen too many films to list every one I've liked. One great film I saw lately was L'homme Du Train.

Television:

My favourite programme is neighbours. Also Six Feet Under, ER etc.

Books:

Catcher In The Rye, For Esme with Love and Squalor, Murakami books in general, particularly Dance Dance Dance. Andrey Kurkov's Death and the Penguin, The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chobosky. Other good things I've read include; Xinran's The Good Women of China and Minor Characters by Joyce Johnson. I also like teenage girls manga and well drawn graphic novels.

Heroes:

Joyce Johnson, Katharine Hepburn.
