My Interests

I get into lots of things, but the most important ones are probably music, films, good wine and good conversation.
I also really enjoy getting out into nature and relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. As you can see from "my favorite toy", in my pics, I am also quite fond of mountain biking. Living here in Europe , and not all that far from the Alps, has also given me the chance to pick up skiing, but I don't really think I need to pick up another expensive hobby/obsession. Plus, why go hurtling down the mountain and break an arm/leg/head when all you really want to do is sit in the hot tub at the clubhouse anyhow? ;)

I'd like to meet:

Who would I like to meet? All sorts of cool and interesting people. But most of all, I would like to meet someone that has a cat like this...

Music:

Anything as long as it is written with some depth and emotion to it. I hate empty music with no meaning. But I have to say that two of my favorite bands have to be TOOL and A Perfect Circle just because Maynard sings with such incredible passion. I also think it is very interesting to note the changes and paths that he took in life to get where he is right now, especially when you consider that he was commissioned from West Point before he tried his hand at song writing. Here is a little bit for your pleasure...

Movies:

There are too many to list! But Lord of The Rings ranks right up there. Black Hawk Down is another one, but that is because Mike Durrant is someone that I know...
The Legend of Bagger Vance is another great film! One of Will Smith's best, and the ironic thing is that I think it is the only movie I have ever seen him in where he isnt some action star.
Event Horizon is another good one. I am not really sure what I was expecting from the adverts when that movie first came out, but I sure wasn't thinking it was going to be anything like it was. Contact is a really first rate film as well. I guess I have to say that I am some what of a fan of any decently written science fiction...
And even though I love the trilogy, I just could not help but add this little tidbit.

Television:

I have to say that I don't really watch that much television, especially since I moved to Germany. But I do miss The Discovery Channel, A&E and The History Channel quite a bit. And the BBC has some pretty good shows as well. And yes, I have to admit that I am a fan of Top Gear, just see for yourself...

Heroes:

Heroes eh? Well, I guess that would have to be just about anyone who holds true to what they really believe in no matter what pressures they are under to change or conform. I guess I still hold a bit true to my "anti establishment" roots, which is kind of an ironic contradiction seeing how I am in the military.
