Toro, Toro, Toro!!!

About Me

Hi all, we are currently on indefinite hiatus for the next two years until Marco finishes his degree in Deeeetroit. Thanks to all who came to see us. xoxo Marco, Zafar,ChrisToro, Toro, Toro!!! is an exercise in tension and release. The Chicago power trio mixes, sparse atmospheric slowcore, serpentine crescendos, wall of sound caterwauls, box step waltzes, and Arabic hymns with full on rawk action. As its name would suggest the new 6 song e.p. “For Snakes and Smiles” is both violently beautiful and gracefully destructive. The bands debut release is result of three years of touring and endless writing sessions. Marco Delgado’s marked vocal style entwines with his guitar tones that range from bell-like to a hail of shrapnel distortion. Chris O’Connell wields thunderous bass melodies with the prowess of a jazz composer and the strength of a steel worker. Zafar Musharraf’s drum lines swing from graceful to hard-boiled rounding out the album with precision and finesse. “For Snakes and Smiles” six songs were recorded to analog tape and digital formats at various studios throughout Chicago including Delgado’s kitchen pantry. The e.p. is a document to the bands creativity and live musical prowess.Toro, Toro, Toro!!! was conceived in an ill heated rehearsal space on a very cold evening in November 2004. After a six month hiatus, longtime musical partners Chris OConnell and Marco Delgado reconvened in September 2004 to begin composing music for a project that would feature their most ambitious and focused work to date. A cavalier drummer Zafar Musharraf answered the online advertisement that Marco and Chris had been running for 3 months straight. The meeting of these three musicians resulted in an immediate personal and musical connection, as each musician possessed the same level of drive, discipline and commitment to creating and performing with total abandon and focus.Toro, Toro, Toro!!! executes their work with a steadfast Midwestern work ethic in a degree of true independence that is free from pomp and circumstance, never failing to bring the meat and potatoes to the table.MySpace Layouts MySpae Layouts
