GIVING YOU THAT ACOUSTIC/ROCK/HIP HOP
Hi, I'm Nik Fury. Not the Samuel L. Jackson version, or the David Hasselhoff version, but more like the rap version. I was born in Eugene, OR and decided to start rapping at the age of 23. I heard the epic sounds of John Reuben and was immediately inspired to start making beats and rhymes.
My style is sort of an acoustic/rock/hip hop combination. It's the kind of sound you'd get if Fall Out Boy, Fort Minor and Toby Mac had a baby. Disturbing, but you get the point. My lyrical/emotional influence comes from a lot of places, mostly when I'm driving somewhere and listening to the radio. I've come up with a lot of my ideas listening to artists like Death Cab for Cutie, Owl City, Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park, Yellowcard, and a million other great artists.
What do I try to accomplish with my music? I want give people permission to be honest with themselves. In the past I've spent a lot of time being who I'm not (or at least who I shouldn't have been) due to social pressures. I think truth is a very powerful thing, and when you follow what you know is true regardless of what other people think, you become a better person for it.
I believe in God, I believe there is something greater than us all out there and if we stop for second to pay attention we'll find it. I'm still searching for the meaning of life and what my role in it is, but until then if I love people and put them before myself I'm on the right track.
I hope you like my music and find it entertaining and thought provoking. Word (as the rappers say).
