About Me

I bleed.

My Interests

Live music, running with my shirt off, frisbee golf, tennis, reading in the hot tub, hiking at Yosemite (new favorite: below Nevada Falls, above Vernal Falls by the Mist Trail), camping at Yosemite or elsewhere, watching baseball (especially on $1 beer night... Thirsty Thursday at Grizzlies Stadium - good thing it's only through 5 innings), trips to see family and friends, the beach...
but right now, it's all about collecting foil, chasing mice, scratching carpets and couches, peeing where I shouldn't. I love my two kitties, the Geek and Shlop! !! Oh, and Devoe too. She's okay.

I'd like to meet:

People with good hearts... and famous people. You know, not Fresno Famous, but people who are internationally known, or at least known to rock the microphone.
These folks will do: Seth McFarland, Dan Castellaneta, Jon Stewart, Bill Clinton(again. this time, preferably at MY desk), Audrey Tautou(I have a crush on the descendant of Jesus), John Cusack, Miguel de Cervantes, Don Mattingly, Noah(we're related I think), Dan Brown, Peter Jennings(we shall meet again), John Moores, William Shakespeare, Steven Levitt, Zach Braff, Kevin Smith, Rosario Dawson, Jenna Fischer...

Music:

My tastes vary pretty widely, but it all begins with Blue October. You may hate me if you like(you can also try to find me in the audience): ..

Movies:

In 2007: Valentin; Freedom Writers; Π; Gray Matters; Like Water for Chocolate; The Lives of Others; A 4-Letter Word; The Science of Sleep; The Prestige; Zodiac; Broken English; Hot Fuzz; Zoolander; O Brother Where Art Thou?; Knocked Up; Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix; Beneath the Planet of the Apes; Ferris Bueller's Day Off; Reality Bites; 28 Days Later; Pan's Labyrinth; Labyrinth; Shaun of the Dead; Evil Dead; Army of Darkness; Half Nelson; Love Liza; Adaptation; The United States of Leland; Fast Food Nation; The Departed; Finding Neverland; Babel; Tarnation; Mean Creek; Pick of Destiny; Borat; Hotel Rwanda; The Believer; Trust the Man; Running With Scissors; Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind; Kinsey; The Boys of Baraka; Storytelling; Lonesome Jim; Beer Fest; L'Enfant; Jesus Camp; The Descent; Sexo con Amor; Screamers; Run Ronnie Run!; The King; Cach&eacute ; Idiocracy; An Inconvenient Truth; The Last Kiss; The Black Dahlia; Rent; The Agronomist; Lady in the Water; A Scanner Darkly; Willow; Talladega Nights; Little Miss Sunshine.Got any suggestions?

Television:

My DirecTV is broken and I'm leaning towards never fixing it, but here's what I said before that happened:
"If it weren't for TiVo, I'd only watch baseball. But I currently like The Office, Scrubs... My Name Is Earl, Lost, The Daily Show, Monk, Family Guy, and Extras."
And OK, I watch Grey's Anatomy now ..... blame Mamie.

Dead shows that should be revived include Arrested Development, The Smurfs, Good Times, Welcome Back Kotter, and Misfits of Science (ahh, Courtney)

Books:

Don Quixote is probably my favorite.

Since 2007 started: Three Cups of Tea(Mortenson/Relin); Just a Couple of Days(Vigorito); The Catcher in the Rye(Salinger); Their Eyes Were Watching God(Hurston); A Long Way Gone(Beah); Reefer Madness(Schlosser); In Cold Blood(Capote); Chuck Klosterman IV(Klosterman); Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs(Klosterman); all 7 Harry Potter books(Rowling); The Dante Club(Pearl); A Thousand Splendid Suns(Hosseini); The Road(McCarthy); The Memory Keeper's Daughter(Edwards); Stranger than Fiction(Palahniuk); Assassination Vacation(Vowell); Misquoting Jesus(Ehrman); The Kite Runner(Hosseini); The Partly Cloudy Patriot(Vowell); The Joy Luck Club(Tan); Slaughterhouse-Five(Vonnegut); Magical Thinking(Burroughs); Running With Scissors(Burroughs); Diary(Palahniuk); The Mayor of Casterbridge(Hardy) ...Also mags, including Texas Monthly, but mostly political and progressive, like the Progressive, Washington Monthly, and Mother Jones.
