About Me

Greetings, do-gooder. I'm Mike and I'm the villain of this picture.Ok, maybe not. However...it seemed like a good opening. Like I said, the name's Mike, and I'm a pretty eclectic person.I love movies and film, and dream one day of working in the biz. I've already spent a lot of time working on various independent and short films, as well as write daily whatever new and crazy idea has occurred to me to commit to screen. I mainly like to direct (and write, as noted), but am willing to ham it up in front of the camera if the mood suits me.I love music, especially legendary and classic rock. My friends joke that I don't like stuff that was written after 1975, which isn't necessairly true...but I do like to know my rock-n-roll roots and am more likely to jam out to Deep Purple than Dashboard Confessional. I tend to believe music in the present day is hardly in the creative place it once was, and we live in a society of slick over-production. So if I want to keep living in the past, why not let me go for it?I'm a grad student in English at Kent State. I liked my undergrad so much, when they offered to pay for me to stay...I did. This makes me a sucker, and I'll gladly admit to it. Also, I hate most classic novels. Guess the joke's on me, huh?I freely admit to loving the early works of Kevin Costner, once being into N'SYNC, and not eating cake. I'm not ashamed! That's pretty much me, anything else you want to know, you have to ask. I'd tell you how awesome I am, but always remember this cardinal rule: There's always someone cooler than you...so I keep it in perspective.Keep it postively 4th Street, my friends.

I'd like to meet:

Well, I'm pretty open minded and have friends from all across the board and all different walks of life. I really love chillin' with mellow people who love to converse. Good conversation makes my heart go aflutter. So, it doesn't matter to me if you're black, white, gay, straight, emo, indie, frat boy, sorority girl, filmmaker, poet, athlete, or whatever. If you enjoy talking to people and have something worth saying, I'd gladly like to meet you.So yeah, that's who I want to meet....and maybe Neil Diamond. Cause I want to know how he was able to record a Christmas album...and no one questioned it (he's Jewish)....and Superman.
