My name is 11211. I am a US Postal Zip Code who just happens to be a magazine as well. Many people know my name and I have many faces. Local folk who live in my borders submit writing samples, photos or illustrations to me and many of them get printed on paper. Then people pick me up on the streets of Williamsburg and take me home and pour through my pages looking for things to do and places to go or just to find out what's going on or what's new in the hood. It's a job but, somebody's got to do it.
The real reason I'm able to exist is due to local businesses. Local business owners want residents to know where they are and what they do, so they place ads. Local residents sometimes read the ads and go to the business owner to whatever product or service they provide and purchase stuff. This is how I live. This endless cycle of advertising and purchasing helps keep the 11211 economy going.
11211 has thousands of great artists, musicians, designers, writers and film makers who have come from all walks of life to gather and collaborate and really just find out what all the fuss is about. I'm very happy to be 11211 in 11211. Happiness is life's spirit.
