PACIFIC VIBRATIONS is known for their energetic performances and inspirational songwriting. Their original style has deep roots in reggae with universal branches. In 2001, KERRY WING returned to California after travels in Brazil. He soon formed PACIFIC VIBRATIONS, which grew to become a deeply positive reggae band.
PACIFIC VIBRATIONS' self-titled and self-produced debut CD came out in the spring of 2003. It has gained national and international acclaim and radio play. "I'm a big fan of artists who can remain faithful to the roots sound while blending in other elements, and Pacific Vibrations does it well", says DJ BAHILMAN of CREATION STEPPIN' Online Radio. Pacific Vibrations' first CD came in at ..7 on his top picks of 2003. He went on to say of the band's single ROOTS LIVING, "I don't often get a new tune that has me hitting the replay button over and over like this."
The band has played major venues, as well as festivals such as REGGAE IN THE PARK, MT. SHASTA WORLD MUSIC FESTIVAL, THE FEATHER RIVER FESTIVAL and the MONTEREY BAY REGGAE FESTIVAL. They headlined at UC Davis' WHOLE EARTH FESTIVAL, and have played along side such luminaries as STEEL PULSE, BEENIE MAN, LUCIANO, EEK A MOUSE, LUCKY DUBE, THE COASTERS, SIZZLA, BURNING SPEAR, and ISRAEL VIBRATION. The band also became close with MIKEY DREAD, opening for him on many occasions.
