My Name is Erica DeVill and I met Daniel DeVill, Gabriel and Loki of Living Dead in 1994 when I was 14 years old. We all grew up in the same area and went to the same High School. Even when I first met them they were playing music and had a band. It was not until 1995 that they named the band Living Dead. I saw my first Living Dead concert in 1996 when I was 16 years old. My second was in April of 1998, two days after Daniel and I started dating I saw them at the Main Event in Toledo during a Battle of the Bands. I have supported them from the first time I saw them in 1996 and through the years, Faust, Judas and 6 joined the band and Living Dead became complete. From that point on the dream kept alive one way or the other through a lot of a growing, changing and learning. We decided no matter what we would make Living Dead and the music scene in the area keep going and growing. Eventually we started getting more business orientated and realizing the potential in what really could be accomplished in the music community and Matrix Concerts was born. After being through the shittiest of shit with crappy, dishonest promoters we wanted to create a booking/promotional company that really catered to the local musicians as well as the local community and their hunger for their favorite national acts. Daniel booked his first national artist Mushroomhead and started what is now known as the annual All Freaks Halloween Ball. Shortly after he continued to book other talents such as American Head Charge, Mindless Self Indulgence, Jello Biafra, Wednesday 13, Dope, Hanzel und Gretyl, Green Jelly, Tub Ring and more. Some of top underground bands that the scene was looking for. After successful shows and happy artists and customers Matrix Concerts bagan to really build a reputation, based off of word of mouth alone. Daniel's reputation has gone as far as national acts requesting fully booked tours outside of the one offs based off his knowledge and experience of running a good show. Matrix Concerts has been going strong for 5 years now. I started off as a merch girl for Living Dead in 2001 and my experience helped me grow into running a professionally organized merchandise boothe. I have ran merchandise boothes for Wednesday 13, Jello Biafra and Hanzel und Gretyl. I am now the main financial investor of Matrix Concerts. I also do all the accounting, ticket tracking, door sales and I do all the other miscellaneous tracking for the business to keep it efficient and organized. Our main goal is to give the local bands and their fans as well as the rest of the scene a chance to play and see their favorite national bands as well as local bands show case in their own headlining shows. If you are a local or national act interested our door is always open. Our main business establishment and home of Matrix Concerts is Club Bijou now known as The Zodiac in Toledo, Ohio. It is a beautiful room with unique art and great sound. The crew, promoters, and bookers all work hard to make sure everything is done to make it a good, successful and fun show. Our heart is in music and we support the music world. You can check out the following pages to get in contact with the booker at Matrix Concerts.
