Christopher Scott, aka XNATION was born in Birmingham, Alabama and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, where he developed a knack for rhyme. Chris wrote his first verse at the tender age of seven and began to hone his craft at sixteen. Taking a page from the forefathers of rap, he embarked upon a musical journey that is yet to come to fruition.At the age of twenty two, XNATION was born. One day while sitting around writing rhymes in Jacksonville, the name came to him. “I was thinking about a name and came up with X because of the unknown and Nation because of the nation of experiences in this life from myself and others. X had been working in Jacksonville when he was brought to the attention of a booking agent out of Chicago, Eric Hawke. Hawke then began to play the demo to various industry associates who were equally impressed by this rap phenom. Hawke knew that there was a magic in this artist and called his close friend and business partner Cottrell Dawson to begin work on a project. Dawson, who was involved with the breaking of platinum recording artists Color Me Badd was more than willing to put forth the time and effort it would take to present X to the industry and beyond. In 2004, XNATION was flown to Las Vegas to begin work on his first demo album. Dawson and DJ Romao began putting together tracks that accentuated XNATION’S unique rhyme style. Together they worked to bring flavor and a unique vibe to the album he enlisted the assistance of R&B singer David Nicoll to compliment Dawson’s musicianship. What ensued was the beginning of a Hip-Hop album for the new millennium that will take the game to a whole new level.XNATION then left Jacksonville for Oklahoma City and began work on tracks with local producer Keytech of the Beat Brokers. This introduced another element of style to the album and elevated X’s skills to even higher peaks. After completing five tracks with Keytech, X then teamed with rapper/producer Xpensiv. The results have been nothing short of amazing. They continuously work together to inspire one another and have generated tracks like a Ford assembly line.Touring was the one element missing in XNATION’S arsenal and that happened to be right up Eric Hawke’s alley. Hawke utilized his relationships with established artists and put X out on the road throughout the summer of 2004. X has been on the road with Tech N9ne, Skatterman & Snug Brim, Kutt Calhoun, Lloyd Banks and has done several shows on his own. As each show passes, X’s star shines even brighter. He is indeed the complete Hip-Hop artist.With styles reminiscent of Big Daddy Kane, Tupac Shakur, Rakim, Scarface and DMX with a Southern Twist. XNATION is set to break new ground in the industry with infectious charisma and a return to the genre’s roots.
