Charlie Tucker has played in bars and clubs mostly around Southern Arizona since 1979 when he founded the Charles Michael Tucker Thunderbird. The Thunderbird evolved into a power trio called Cheap and Superficial before disbanding completely in 1983. Charlie then formed the Country Western band called Saddle Tramp and enjoyed some success with that band for the next five years...
After a few years away from the club scene, Charlie was a founding member of Big Dick's Super Service, a Country Rock band that eventually became The Crime Scene before disbanding in 2004...
Charlie began performing and recording with the Folk Rock band Kaivaly. Their debut CD "Songs of Vasistha" was released in 2006 and sold fairly well in Australia and Europe although the band had never performed outside of the United States...
Kaivaly also performed as Camelphat, a more adult oriented band that the members fondly referred to as "Kaivaly's evil twin." As Kaivaly began making arrangements to record their follow-up album to "Vasistha," the members decided to go their separate ways in early 2008...
Charlie returned to playing as a solo performer before joining up with old friend and busker Dave Banjoseed as a guitarist and bassist for Banjo Dave & Friends. Now, he says, he is enjoying the best of both worlds splitting his time between his solo gigs and various group efforts...Very recently, Charlie has been spending all of his free time in the studio with his friend Michael Armour trying out some new music and recording new versions of some very old songs. "I don't know if these tracks will ever see the light of day," he says, "but we've got hours and hours of music recorded so far."
