I am here for Friends

About Me

So... I made it through this semester of Nursing school- YAY! Now I have the summer off to play and work before its time to get back into serious mode. I am convinced it is just a test to see if (they) can get you to crack under pressure. Truthfully, you are not likely to see me in Med school any time soon. I am down to one main job these days and I am undecided about re-enlisting in the reserves. I have too much on my plate right now. All work and no play equals a cranky Amanda.Lately, I feel as if I am running on overdrive! My time is up on May 9th, and I am leaning towards freedom. Maybe I will come back in as a Nurse Corps Officer when I am done, or maybe not! Life is too precious not to savor the moments. I am also very excited because some dear friends I won't mention for their privacy, are finally going to be the parents they were meant to be! I love you guys! Damon and I are planning some fun trips this summer which include, Oregon in June to see the fam, New York in July to run the New York City half marathon for Autism, New Mexico in August to see more fam, October we will venture to Chicago for the Marathon, and Tennessee in the fall to see my fam. I am a busy girl, what can I say! ?

My Interests

I am running for Autism, and for Derek if you are interested in contributing go to http://www.firstgiving.com/amandaunderwood
I am an obsessive runner, and it is my outlet through which I channel stress. If I were ever paralyzed... Well lets just not think about that. I love running marathons and half marathons and collecting the shirts and medals. I could have a worse habit, like drug addiction. I am a wine fanatic! Pour me a glass and I will socialize all night. I am planning a post grad trip to Europe, and wine tasting is on the itinerary. I enjoy long relaxing bubbly baths with candles and some John Mayer, or Jack, and occasionaly some Sarah Mclachlan. When I do find time to get on here, I spend way too much time! I live for happy hour with the girls, though they have been few this semester. I am a new member to Beer and 'Rita night with the Suburban crew, so I haven't yet determined if it is my new thing. Cuddling with my affectionate kitties is a must at the end of a long day. Snuggling up on the sofa with Damon and his "Wooby" (get your mind out of the gutter)for a nap. I love to cook gourmet meals when time permits, but I will never turn down going to Legal Seafood for dinner. I love hiking and yoga. I am the biggest fan of a great massage or facial at an Aveda spa. Love road trips!! Love the spring and fall- first part of summer in Maryland because the rest is freaking hot.

New York City half marathon and fundraiser for Autism

I have decided to raise money for the Organization for Autism Research and run the New York City half marathon in July. I love to run and I thought I  should contribute something for all of these...
