We are a group of people that enjoy Scottish and Irish music in Malta and together we have formed the Wallace Pipes & Drums. We started off basically all on our own and some of us had our own bands and used to play for wedding's and at Hotel functions, At that time some of us were and still are Band Master's of Scouts Bands, and members of other bands included, so we are always gaining more and more experience at functions.One day in 1999 Kevin and myself met up for the first time for a meeting to talk about the possibility of forming a pipe band and looked at being able to combine our knowledge and experience that we have together to form a credible pipe band, hence the Wallace Pipes & Drums were formed in December 1999. We played for the first time as Wallace Pipes & Drums in Zabbar, where we gained our first booking.We have invested a lot of time and money in our group to be able to give our clients what they ask for. We also have our own seamstress who checks our uniforms so we look our best at functions and we are always striving to update and improve our uniforms.To date we have done not only weddings but other functions such as street marching and playing at hotels and also have played for charitable events, as you will see in the photos attached. One of our most memorable day's was when we were invited to march and play in Valletta with the Scottish Regiment The Black Watch which were in Malta during the Queen's visit to Malta (CHOGM)and also for the Malta Military Tattoo, after marching through Valletta we were then invited to join in and play along side with the Scottish Regiment the Black Watch in Valletta, (photos are attached) During the same visit of the Queen (CHOGM) we also played in L’isla. We have taken part with many of the band clubs in Malta on stage. Over the years we have also played for a lot of weddings. We are also the official band of the Whiskey Connoisseurs of Malta and of Evian in France, where we have been over to Evian for the ceromony. We also have taken part in the Military Tattoo of Malta in 2006, 2007, 2008 and again this year in 2009. We have taking part in the Whiskey Connoisseurs in Wales in the beginning of April this year 2009 and also again at the end of April this year we have taking part in the Whiskey Connoisseurs in France Evian. While we were in Evian, we also took part in a concert in Evian, where the Red Hot Chilli Pipers was also preforming...
