About Me

Short Biography
Neicey started writing songs in 1994, with sidekick and talented guitarist Paul Kearns.
She quickly became known for her seductive, hypnotic folksy style.
With the departure of Kearns in 1996, she took time out and has re-emerged with a new band of talented songwriters and musicians; who complemnt her unique, progressive acoustic style.
Having developed a prestigious reputation in contemporary folk circles, she had performed on radio, in clubs and at festivals in and around the midlands. With the release of her debut album "Decree Neicey" in 2000, she spread her wings Nationwide and gained acclaim from respected personalities in the music world, such as Clive Gregson (singer/songwriter), Simon Heyworth (The Producer of Tubular Bells, The Who and David Bowie to name but a few) and Graham Radley (World Music).
With this kind of praise and limitless vocal talent, Neicey was set to make a big impact on the progressive acoustic scene.
Reviews
"Decree Neicey is a highly crafted collection of songs and performances, expertly put together! Highly recommended!"
Clive Gregson Singer/Songwriter
"Folksy, Hypnotic, Seductive, Neicey Mann's Vocal Talents Deny Categorization."
Alan Smith "Derbyshire Telegraph"
"If you've yet to discover the cool, seductive voice and the rootsy, hued mulching of Neicey Mann, donn't miss out. With such influences as Nick Drake, Cowboy Junkies and Eddi Reader, not to mention the fabulous version of Shawn Colvin's arrangement of Talking Heads' 'Naive Melody'."
"what's On Magazine"
"Neicey Mann continues to impress!. Northern Hill has shuffling English Gypsy folk flavours with keening violin and a hypnotic, sultry flute solo, buliding to what could only prove to be a classic! With a Whisper drifts languidly on Spanish Guitar"
Mike Davies "Brum Beat"
"Neicey Mann are of an earthly nature. The laid back vibrations and deep resonance recall Bet Orton at her slouchy best. There's a drifting sense of joss sticks and an image of barefoot ,usicians surrounding Neicey Mann, particularly with a haunting e-bow, adding a seriousness to the occasion. Comparisons are with Beth Orton are undeniable on "Let The Money Go", but Neicey does have a sweet voice and spiritually is at home in the era and aura of a time when female singer/songwriters were your gentle friends called Melanie or Carol."
Steve Nicholls "Birmingham Evening Mail"
"An impressively beguiling album debut...."
