THAT JUST HAPPENED

About Me

These things, among others that are not mentioned here, make me happy: (in no particular order) tall chai tea latte no water ~ dancing in the car while driving ~ finding a new artist/song that I can listen to over and over again ~ making my husband laugh ~ Crocs (don't hate) ~ Amy's Organic Frozen Entrees for lunch ~ taking road trips to anywhere, anytime ~ girlfriends ~ Nashville ~ spending true quality time with the Lord ~ discovering new territories ~ buying stuff for my house ~ being in school and learning something new every day ~ spending time with people who aren't typical ~ watching the Lord move in my life and in the life of the church ~ witty myspace comments ~ attempts at creativity

My Interests

The regeneration of the church in America, (it may not look like what you think), homeopathy and natural wellness, building and practicing community, hiking in the hills around my house, poverty and homelessness, fixing people, loving people, thinking of creative ways to do life, Christian Theology, Church History, Jewish history and culture, singing, theatre, dance, the arts in general, MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC (see music section for further details), not to mention my hottie husband who rocks my face off!

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who is remotely interesting, also, of course, I can never give up on my childhood dream- Michael J.

Music:

Anything that takes my soul and makes it sigh, laugh or cry, and anything that takes my booty and makes it wiggle. So here goes, this is my starter list, and in no particular order, I love: Stevie Wonder, Lauryn Hill, MJ, anything Motown, U2, Dave Matthews, Aretha Franklin, Avril Lavigne, Ben Harper, Hillsong, Beatles, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Simon & Garfunkel, Ryan Adams, Damien Rice, Patty Griffin, Elton John, Over The Rhine, John Legend, Old Blind Dogs, Natalie Merchant, Missy Elliott, Kanye West, John Mayer, Jeremy Camp, Janet, Imogen Heap, Starfield, Hank Williams (Sr. only), David Crowder, Anberlin, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Brandi Carlile, Leeland, The Fray, Counting Crows, Vineyard, Pedro The Lion, Chris Tomlin, Bob Marley, Frank Sinatra, Outkast, Coldplay, Jack Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, Ludacris, Neko Case, James Brown, The Clash, Billie Holiday, Jewel, The Decemberists, Amos Lee, David Gray, Etta James, Billy Joel, Sara Groves, Fugees, Ibrahim Ferrer, James Taylor, Jamie Cullum, Maroon 5, Biggy, and any classical and opera.

Movies:

When Harry Met Sally and The War, all time favorites, and besides the predictable girly flick, I love Band of Brothers, anything that is not in English, most of Mel Gibson's movies, It's a Wonderful Life, Waiting For Guffman, Best In Show, Amelie, Monty Python (Holy Grail, Life of Brian), Good Will Hunting, March of the Penguins, Elizabethtown, Life Aquatic, Napoleon Dynamite, Lord of War, and any good documentary that teaches me something new.

Television:

OKAY.... I used to be so elitist, one of those I'm too good for TV people. Until I stumbled upon LOST. I am now a LOST craving maniac. If it is my only vice, is that so bad? I can't believe I will have to wait 8 months until next season. Ridiculous.

Books:

The B-I-B-L-E, C.S. Lewis, Thomas Hardy, Madeleine L'Engle, Elie Wiesel, Zora Neale Hurston, Ravi Zacharias, Neil Anderson, Roald Dahl, Shane Claiborne, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove, Randy Alcorn. Didn't finish all the summer reading I would have liked, but no that school is back in... you really don't want to know. Lots of very thick books with very boring titles and nothing inside that would be interesting except to a total nerd like myself i.e. "The Hermeneutical Spiral"- see what I mean?

Heroes:

Jesus, not only my hero but my redeemer and friend. Everyone should have the opportunity to get to know Him-- you won't be disappointed.
