"The world is like a ride at an amusement park. It goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question: Is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, "Hey - don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because, this is just a ride...†But we always kill those good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok. Martin Luther King - murdered; Malcolm X - murdered; Gandhi - murdered; John Lennon - murdered; Reagan... wounded. But it doesn't matter because: It's just a ride. And we can change it anytime we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings and money. A choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love, instead, see all of us as one. Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money that we spend on weapons and defenses each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace." -Bill Hicks
Part 1 of 3
Part 2 of 3
Part 3 of 3
Parts of the bible that seem to have been thrown out while the part about homosexuality is taken very seriously: Deuteronomy 21:18-21
“If any man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father or his mother, and when they chastise him, he will not even listen to them, then his father and mother shall seize him, and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gateway of his hometown. They shall say to the elders of his city, 'This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey us, he is a glutton and a drunkard.’ Then all the men of his city shall stone him to death; so you shall remove the evil from your midst, and all Israel will hear of it and fear.†(Stone to death disobedient children)
Exodus 21:7
"If a man sells his daughter as a female slave, she is not to go free as the male slaves do.†(You can sell your daughter into slavery)
Exodus 35:2
“For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a holy day, a Sabbath of complete rest to the LORD; whoever does any work on it shall be put to death.†(Can’t work on Sunday or you should be put to death)
Corinthians 11:14-15
“Nature itself teaches you neither that it is disgraceful for a man to have long hair nor that hair is a woman's glory, for hair is given as a substitute for coverings.â€
Leviticus 15:19-23
“When a woman has her monthly period, she is unclean for seven days; anyone who touches her will be unclean until evening. Anything she lies on during this time will be unclean, and everything she sits on during this time will be unclean. Anyone who touches her bed must wash his clothes and bathe in water; that person will be unclean until evening. Anyone who touches something she has sat on must wash his clothes and bathe in water; that person will be unclean until evening. It does not matter if the person touched the woman’s bed or something she sat on; he will be unclean until evening.â€
“If you believe that it’s your God and your God is infallible, you can’t throw out some of the rules just because you don’t like them.â€
