journalTHING11.19.07 - Chris & I Are Excited
as soon as i got off work, i wanted to do something physical, but not that kind of physical. i texted chris to skate, and he was down. so i skated to his and we skated around the neighborhood. we didnt cruise as much as we worked on our respective challenges. he had the heelflip to land, and i had the ollie.
we practiced much, to the point of exhaustion. but it paid off. we pulled off our respective moves.
it was marvelous!
11.17.07 - Dead Links
today was mother's birthday today, so after a horrible day at work, lance and i took mom for cue, then we walked around diamond plaza. afterward, we took mom and the rest of the family to bjs.
11.12.07 - The Long Weekend (No Joke)
Friday night, lance and i went to circa survive.
we didnt care much about the opening bands, so he and i were in and out of the venue.
it was pretty late when circa came on, but when they arrived, they opened with a bang.
the exciting intro to 'Living Together' was accompanied with confetti, bursting over the crowd. behind the band were random videos projected.
it was wonderful, the crowd was insane, and circa was great.
the second song played, and giant balloons were thrown into the crowd. it was like a giant party for a good hour.
we left exhausted, due to the long, sweaty, claustrophobic set.
from there, lance and i hit up in-n-out in west covina, head home, then knock out.
the following evening, lance and i drive to rod's and we are introduced to aleeping lacy.
after all the formalities, we headed for tims, where we picked up krizzle. from there we hit up dennys and talk about pick-up lines, colleges, disneyland, johnny whoops, and other such nonsense.
after dennys, the five of us have a grand ole time at krizzle's, singing, attempting to sing, dancing, attempting to dance, reminisce, attempting to reminisce.
it was fun.
we left krizzle's for rod's where we took pictures and got into deep conversations about movies, social commentaries, allegories, and the like.
profound shit.
the evening after (which is yesterday [which is sunday,])
i visit david. we jam for a bit, practicing castledoor's "remember when."
i liked it, we just needed a little practice.
after jammin for a bit, we went to in-n-out and i ordered "a double double, no onions, and a cup of water, please."
after in-n-out and realizing that starbucks, as well as most other restaurants were closed for veteran's day, we went to denny's where david ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast. christine met us there and we played with those fortunes of folded paper that elementary girls would make. i dont know if you know what i'm talking about.
anyways, we messed around with those, and i would listen to christine and david talk.
i dont know the word in english, but in tagalog there's a word to describe the feeling i had at that moment. actually i forgot that word too. but i suppose the closest english word would be content.
i was kind of tired, but content. the weekend was fun, but long.
after denny's the three of us went back to david's where we brought david's keyboard and guitar to his living room. we jammed it to castledoor, and i listened to the two musicians play eric clapton and elton john.
we head out and say goodbyes, but not before polawhoring it up.
