Free your Mind... now IS the time!

About Me

..I consider myself to be a free spirit of sorts, an easy going person. I love being outside and connecting on the inside...since I've lived in some amazing spots, it makes it easier to do so. I am a lover in many senses- of food, of people, of wine... I like to enjoy life when I can, which is my new priority.I am in Brazil right now - check it out...

My Interests

Right now I am trying my best to explore what life has to offer. I am in Brazil and have been since the end of June... I envelope myself in the culture as best as possible and take it all in. I am picking up Portuguese but I have learned more than ever that by watching the details you can find out so much information... I am now asking a lot of Why's? in life and it feels great!

I'd like to meet:

Old Friends, New Friends...good warm hearted people that shine from the inside. Here is a slideshow from the weekend with Amanda...Northern Arizona and Southern Utah... Enjoy!

..

Music:

I love how you can hear a song and it can bring you back to the moment when you heard it...it makes you remember the way you felt, how things smelt around you, the people the love.I admire anyone who is able to express themselves through music, or any other form of art for that matter. But Music...it moves me. It moves me even more now that I actually pay attention to the lyrics and understand what the artist is trying to get across... like Jack Johnson, yes very mainstream now, but if you really listened and understood his lyrics maybe not everyone would always try to sing along... try it.

Movies:

Believe it or not my favorite right now is the new Simpson's movie, we bought a copy from a guy on the street for 3 reais (about 1.50 usd. It is hilarious and pokes fun of the American Society, something I never fully picked up ..... amazing when you leave your own country and see it from a different perspective..

Television:

So I don't watch tv very often, I think it is an easy way to make the time pass too fast and fill my head up with nonsense...however, I have watched it here in Brazil with subtitles, which helps to learn the language, it really does... and again...the Simpsons, but this one doesn't come with subtitles, it is just dubbed over and all I can understand are the visual clues the creators give about the scene...genius, really genius.

Books:

Sheesh, this is a good question...

Heroes:

John Muir who stood up for what he believed and helped to change our world even today. I guess anyone for that matter who has the courage to go against the norm, challenge the status quo, ask questions and do what is right even if you are one of a small handful who believe in it. Howard Zinn he says it like it is and has this unbelievable way of looking at things in a different angle than most. That is the only way that change happens...courageous people.
