The Detroit based band gets some of their inspiration from the old Grande Ballroom days, where legends burned up their amps. The American debut of Tommy was done here in Michigan. The band name 'Live The WHO' is a homonym. Live as in living, is the motto of these four band members. Live The WHO style of playing has all the sights, sounds and smells of the birth of the super group, The WHO.
Their LIVE at LEED's sound incorporates all the great hits of The WHO. The setlists read like a best of compilation album. Often recreating specific concerts by song choices from Tommy, Quadrophenia, Who's Next, The Kids are Alright. They often perform similar to The WHO's live shows like Live at The Young Vic, Live at The Isle of Wight Festival, Flying to New York to Go to Court, The WHO New Year's Eve, A Warehouse in New Orleans, Live in Amsterdam, Pure Rock Theatre and many, many more. All these live concerts studied studiously.
Dave James - Former Lead Vocalist and Rhythm Guitar player for the Snakes, has performed throughout the United States and has made several television appearances with a variety of musical acts. Some of the past and present bands he has performed in are: PLANET OF FUN, KILLSWITCH, THE DEADRINGERS, JOE GRADY, BLACK MAGIC CROSSING, and THE MOTORCITY ROCKERS featuring the drummer from THE ROMANTICS and Geffen recording artist HUSH.
Joe Bologna - Is a world class drummer, and can completely duplicate Keith Moon's animal style drumming, vocals, and personality on stage. Joe is also a fantastic guitarist, pianist, bass player and songwriter - practically a group, all by himself! Joe has toured the World as Ringo Starr with The Cast Of Beatlemania and Backbeat "The Tribute", as well as the famous Liverpool Legends managed by George Harrison's sister.
Curt Traynor -Coming from an extensive musical family, he started playing cornet in elementary school, and then bass guitar that his mother gave him at Christmas when he was 15. Two of his mother’s siblings, Pat and Coleen, were a major catalyst in exposing him to classic rock acts such as; The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and The WHO! This is when he became obsessed with the bass guitar playing style of John Entwistle. In 1992 he moved to England where he played and co-wrote songs in the Manchester band “The New Breedâ€. They played pubs and clubs as well as Surrey University. An original member of “The OHM / The WHO Tribute band†since 2003. …and as John Entwistle once wrote, “If you’re reading this Bio… don’t forget to wave – I’m the one on the left.â€
Dan Parsons - Ever since his friend Chris showed him a few chords on the guitar there was no turning back on the path of The WHO. Since he was 16 he has only had the desire to play the music of The WHO, well since his own music didn't get as much immediate appreciation as did the covers he played. In fact don't ask him about any other band he really has no clue on other music, just The WHO. The commitment to quality is beyond reproach, in fact, Dan owns one of Pete Townshend's Gibson SG's that was thrown from the stage on June 14, 1970. It can been seen, sometimes, at special events!
