About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6 !
Well I work as a bank teller somewhere in Portland. It's ok, though it's nuts to think about how much money I touch in any given day. Nothing will make you feel poorer than counting out $8000 in cash to someone. Finally moved into Portland with my roomie/college friend Tiffany. Mostly just working and trying to give some serious thought as to where my life is going. Am I smart enough and determined enough to go to grad school? Does that mean I'll have to brave the GRE again? Can't I just marry rich and be a professional volunteer?
A lot of people say that they're at a crossroads in their life. I used to think that. Then I realized I've been standing at this same intersection for about three years. Crap.

My Interests

Having some fun for a change, enjoying all Portland has to offer, drinking some beer, riding my bike, watching some Entourage, pretending to research grad programs, whatever.

Man, is this thing cute or twisted? I adopted a cute lil' party fetus from Fetusmart! Hooray fetus!

You're Mexico!
While some people think you're poor and maybe a little corrupt, you know where it's at, enjoying good food and nice beaches. You like to take things a little slower than those around you, and you really wish the air were cleaner, but sometimes compromises must be made. For some reason, Chevrolet keeps trying to sell you Novas as well, even though they don't really go.

I'd like to meet:

adopt your own virtual pet!
Someone who wants to give me ridiculous amounts of money, just because I'm cute. Anyone who wants to practice their Spanish or their salsa dancing. Anyone who can read my future and give me some good advice. Anyone who thinks I'm funny. Anyone who wants me to cook them dinner. Anyone who'll take me to the movies.

Music:

.. width="425" height="350" ..

I can't name anything anymore so I just push random radio buttons until I find a station that's playing somethign I don't hate. I'm nauseated by all the obnoxious "girl rockers" that have become so popular and saddened that Paris Hilton has a record contract while there are so many talented REAL people out there starving for a break. Ok, off my soapbox. I like OAR, OK Go, The Shins, Greenday, Garden State Soundtrack, Dave Matthews Band, Coldplay, other stuff. I will admit that if I'm trying to prep myself for a night of dancing/drinking I've been known to play R Kelly and Britney Spears. Only my friend Maria understands me on this issue. *sigh*

Movies:

The Wedding Singer, The Shawshank Redemption, Crash, When Harry Met Sally, Oh Brother Where Art Thou?, Animal House, The Big Lebowski, Swingers, Office Space, The Motorcycle Diaries, Maria Full of Grace, Memento, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Some Like it Hot, Volver

Television:

We have a tv but no cable which means no shows. Which is ok I guess. So I pretty much just watch The Office, and OPB. Thank god comedy central puts Daily Show clips online!!!
..

Books:

Trying to read more now that I've rediscovered my love for it.
Slaughterhouse 5, Memoirs of a Geisha, To Kill A Mockingbird, The God of Small Things, The Bell Jar

According to BluePyramid:

You're The Sound and the Fury!
by William Faulkner
Strong-willed but deeply confused, you are trying to come to grips with a major crisis in your life. You can see many different perspectives on the issue, but you're mostly overwhelmed with despair at what you've lost. People often have a hard time understanding you, but they have some vague sense that you must be brilliant anyway. Ultimately, you signify nothing.

Heroes:

Certainly there have been a number of amazing people in the world who have done a lot of amazing things. But I am most inclined to name all those un-named people who are just living from day to day, struggling to make their little corner of the world better. Especially to those working for women's rights everywhere, reproductive and otherwise. Here's to YOU! To those health workers doing their best in the poorest nations in the world. Thank you! To the single parents, the firefighters, the teachers, the researchers, the cleaning ladies and the guys who make my bagel in the morning. You guys all rock. Oh, and Jon Stewart.
