I'm a Christian dude originally from Hampton, VA but I go to school near Chicago at Wheaton. Being landlocked ranks and I love doing stuff on the water when back in VA. I'd rather be getting heat rash in India doin God's work and helping the people there like I did this summer than spending a bunch of time out on the water (like I love to do so much) back in VA. At the end of my days, some pleasure here and there, or lots of it like I've had, won't mean much on the grand scheme of things. How much money, how much power, how much fun, how awesome of a wife, etc.; it all won't mean a thing in the end. I seek to realize that more and more, and strive for living a life that actually matters. So much of what we seek after can be so short-lived, like "dust in the wind, dude." (Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure) There are so many shallow people out there, so many conversations that are wasted on blah, so much time wasted on blah or your and my own gratification. I want to live a life of meaning, where the aneastitizing behaviors that are so common in our lives are reduced tremendously as I seek intentionality in what I know to be true. ____________________________________________________________ I live in VA over parts of summer and breaks and go to school near Chicago. Most myspacers live in a world where, if someone takes 1 week, 1 month, 1 year to get back to you, it probably means they don’t want to talk to you. This is especially true if they’ve gotten on a few times since you messaged them. While sure, this might be true under most circumstances, but it’s not for me. I’m overcommitted, my time management stinks, and I’m way behind on a lot of things that matter quite a bit. Yeah it might take me awhile to get back to ya, but try to believe me when I say that if I take awhile to get back to you, there’s a pretty decent chance that it has very little to do with you! I could totally think that you seem awesome, and no I’m not playing mind games by delaying. It probably means that the message isn’t about something urgent that can’t wait a week/month/year or two. Outwardly beautiful people in particular take great offense at how much time I can take to get back to them. Also, I’m hit or miss, so sometimes I could take a day, sometimes 6 months. Know that there are people who I’ve actually chilled with that I’m mad behind on getting back to as well. Despite my forewarnings, it’s very common for a lot of people to ignore this and act as though I don’t mean it. Pay a lot more attention to the length of my reply (I don't have too much time to make em long either, but if it's like 2 words, u know the drill) than the length of time between messages to get a feel for things. Taking a week or a month to get back to me will help me out too so feel free. Pretty much nobody ever thinks this applies to them... I'm not "just saying this!"
